COLOR FILTER started as a unit led by Tsuneyoshi Ryuji, debuting in the United States and subsequently releasing numerous works primarily focused on overseas audiences. The Flaming Lips highly praised their sound as an embodiment of their own psychedelia. In 2002, they performed at SXSW. Their sound can be described as mellow psychedelia encompassing ambient, shoegazer, breakbeats, and techno elements, and it secretly anticipated genres like “Dream Pop,” which has now gained recognition. This unique presence was ahead of its time here in Tokyo. Once again, in 2023, their sound deserves to be “rediscovered.” They are making a fresh start with new vocalist MINAMI TAGA.
COLOR FILTERはアメリカでのデビューを皮切りに海外を中心に多数のリリースを重ねたツネヨシリュウジのユニットとしてスタート。The Flaming Lipsが「自分たちのサイケデリア感を体現しているサウンド」として絶賛。 2002年にはSXSWへ出演。アンビエント、シューゲーザー、ブレークビーツ、テクノを内包するメロウサイケデリアとも言えるサウンドは、現在では市民権を得るに至った “Dream Pop”といったジャンルを、密かに、ここTokyo で先取りしていた孤高の存在。改めて、2023年に「再発見」されるべきサウンド。新ボーカリストMINAMI TAGAを迎え再始動。
